Chapter 3 (part 4)

As Tempest gathered his gear from his room he stared once more at the mounted sword. “Father..” he muttered and reached for the sword’s hilt once again. The closer he got to it the more he shook, “I.. I still can’t.” He put his hand to his head and sighed. Quickly grabbing the rest the gear he got out of the room as quickly as he could.

Everything was ready for the journey. Tempest had said goodbye to Gust and Gale as they saw him off. He had hefted the bundle Gale had made over his shoulder. It was a small one, but had the things necessary for a long quest. A few blankets and pillows, a skin of water, some bread and cheese, various herbs, and an extra purse for money if he wound up filling the other one. White Glory hovered beside him as he started to walk. “So where are we going to go first?” he asked.

“East.. Into the forest. I have a feeling that one of the jewels may be hidden there.” she responded determined.

“The forest of mist? Where the fairies are said to live?”

“Yes… That’s the one.”

“I hope your hunch is right, because not even the lowest cut throat merchant dares to pass through there. Especially when bandits are even more frightened then they are.”

A strange pitched noise came from White Glory’s throat. It was almost as if she was laughing. Tempest could not tell, her dragon noises collided with her speaking too much for him to know for sure. She then flicked her tail and flew a bit forward as they picked up a few more supplies from town. They were fully on their way.
